Aerosmith Releases New Video: “Legendary Child”

For those of us who were waiting with baited breath for the new Aerosmith record this summer—only to have our hope deferred with a delayed release date—the band has thrown us a bone.

On Tuesday, Aerosmith released the official video for their single “Legendary Child”, their first music video in eight years. After a schlocky introduction, the band launches into a driving riff in its signature all-out-rock style, with frontman Steven Tyler half-yelling/half-rapping in his tired rock & roll voice, punctuated by scenes of chicks chasing each other on roller blades. Pretty classic stuff, actually.

With Aerosmith’s long-standing track record, no one is looking for a huge change in direction here—we want more of the same solid rock we’ve come to expect from this band, and if “Legendary Child” is any indication, the upcoming record promises to deliver. Music From Another Dimension is now slated for a November 6 release. Be patient—good things come to those who wait.

In the meantime—chew on this bone.

About the Author

on MUSIC IS MY OXYGEN WEEKLY.

Tim Ferrar's interest in pop and rock started as a child, listening to Top-40 radio for hours on end while playing air guitar in his bedroom. Eventually air guitar led to electric guitar, and Tim began playing in bands and writing his own songs. With an admitted weakness for "a great hook or a great guitar riff," Tim's musical tastes are broad and varied, ranging from Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga on the pop side to Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters on the rock side- making him the ideal guy to cover our Rock and Pop categories. By day, Tim is a mild-mannered accountant in Chicago. By night, he rocks out on electric guitar in a cover band in various clubs around town- much to the surprise of some of his clients.
