Chris Brown Arrested for Assault in DC

If allegations are true, R&B star Chris Brown has apparently not learned to control his temper—and this time it may cost him some jail time.

CBS News reports that the star was involved in a physical altercation with another individual early Sunday morning outside a Washington, DC hotel, and was arrested by police. He has been charged with felony assault and is currently still in custody, along with his bodyguard, who allegedly participated in the brawl and faces the same charges. The victim reportedly suffered from a broken nose and was treated at a local hospital.

Brown is still serving out probation for beating his then-girlfriend R&B singer Rihanna back in 2009, which means he could face up to four years in prison if it is determined that this incident violates his probation.

It is currently difficult to discern fact from fiction among the reports swirling around this incident. Some reports indicate that Brown threw a punch at the victim when he tried to insert himself into a fan photo, while TMZ says that the Brown camp is claiming the victim and a friend were attempting to trespass onto the band’s tour bus. The victim also claims the singer used a gay slur against him, which sources close to Brown vehemently deny.

Brown and his bodyguard are scheduled to attend a bail hearing Monday.
