Fleetwood Mac to Reissue “Rumours”, Prepare for Reunion Tour

It’s looking to be a big year for Fleetwood Mac. Not only are they gearing up for a huge reunion tour (with nearly 50 cities announced so far), but next Tuesday the band are re-issuing their 1977 breakout album Rumours as a special 35th-anniversary edition.

The album, while not Fleetwood Mac’s first commercially successful record, is certainly their most significant from a historical standpoint, propelling the band to international superstardom and helping to define the sound of 1970s pop/rock. It is by far the band’s top-selling album, with over 40 million copies sold thus far. (It looks like they’re about to sell a few more.)

The latest re-issue of Rumours is reported to include lots of extras in a 3-disc set, including previously unreleased live recordings from several tour dates in 1977 and outtakes from the Rumours recording sessions. There will also be a deluxe edition available, which will also include a special documentary DVD and a vinyl copy of the album.

So far, only North American tour dates have been announced, but the band says this will be a world tour. This is shaping up to be a tour Fleetwood Mac fans won’t want to miss. Current tour dates are listed below; check your local ticket outlets for information on sales.

About the Author

on MUSIC IS MY OXYGEN WEEKLY.

Tim Ferrar's interest in pop and rock started as a child, listening to Top-40 radio for hours on end while playing air guitar in his bedroom. Eventually air guitar led to electric guitar, and Tim began playing in bands and writing his own songs. With an admitted weakness for "a great hook or a great guitar riff," Tim's musical tastes are broad and varied, ranging from Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga on the pop side to Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters on the rock side- making him the ideal guy to cover our Rock and Pop categories. By day, Tim is a mild-mannered accountant in Chicago. By night, he rocks out on electric guitar in a cover band in various clubs around town- much to the surprise of some of his clients.
