Jeffrey Katzenberg Offered $75 Million For More Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is undoubtedly one of the greatest shows of all time. It’s got amazing  actors, the best scripts ever written, and some of the most impressive cinematography ever put down on film. The show was a perfect storm of creativity. And the results showed. The series finale was watched by over ten million people.

Jeffery Katzenberg, the CEO of Dreamworks Animation, saw the popularity of the show and instantly saw the money making opportunity.

Katzenberg recently gave an interview were he confessed that he offered $75 million for three more episodes of the series.

“I had this crazy idea. I was nuts for the show. I had no idea where this season was going. The last series cost about $3.5 million an episode. So they would make more profit from these three shows than they made from five years of the entire series. I said (to them), ‘I’m going to create the greatest pay-per-view television event for scripted programming anybody’s ever done.”
