Transformers 4 is coming together fairly quickly. It’s got an all-star cast, it’s got Marky Mark, and it’s got lots of robots. So, y’know it’s radically different from the previous installments of the franchise.
Many of the rumors surrounding the film have purported that the Dinobots would finally be making their big screen debut. Other rumors have suggested that there will be a new form of Optimus Prime appearing in this film. My immediate thought was Optimus Primal from the Beast Wars cartoon. There’s no word yet if that’s actually going to happen, but I’ve got my fingers crossed.
Well, the film formerly known as Transformers 4 has just been granted an official name. Transformers: Age of Extinction. That, along with the Transformers logo that was featured on Michael Bay’s hat in a promotional still, has supported the rumors of the Dinobots playing a major role in the film. One of the Dinobots showed up…sort of, in Dark of the Moon but anyone who was satisfied by that cameo is either clinically insane or way too easy to please.
Mark Wahlberg’s involvement, along with the possibility of the Dinobots makes me not hate the idea of this film, but I’m still probably not going to pay money to see this in the theatre.
