Captain America 3 Scheduled For May 2016

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has been released and is a massive success. The film has been doing extremely well critically and commercially. Many are claiming that the film is the best of all the Phase 2 Marvel films.

Hot off the heals of the smash success, Marvel has green lit the sequel. Cap 3 will be hitting theaters in May of 2016. The film will presumably keep a similar storyline, following Cap’s search for James Buchanan Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. It’d also be reasonable to assume that Crossbones will appear and Sam Wilson aka The Falcon.

Cap 3 might end up being Chris Evans final solo outing as Captain America. The actor has expressed fatigue over playing the roll and appearing on screen. He’s expressed interest in directing films. Seeing as this Marvel Contract only has three films left in it, Avengers 2, Cap 3, and Avengers 3, it’s reasonable that he’ll walk away from the role and that Sebastian Stan’s Bucky will take over the role of Cap, much like he did in the comics.

Cap 3 will also be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
