Casey Kasem Located in Washington State

As an update to our report yesterday as to the search for missing radio icon Casey Kasem…multiple news sources are reporting this morning that he has been found in Washington state.

A statement from daughter Kerri Kasem’s publicist has confirmed the news: “We have received confirmation that Casey Kasem has been found. The family has grave concerns about his health and will do everything in their power to bring him back home.”  Kerri also posted a message on her Facebook page: “We are grateful to the local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home.”

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered an investigation on Monday to discover the radio icon’s whereabouts after it was revealed that he had been moved without his children’s knowledge from the nursing home where he had been staying. An attorney for Kasem’s wife Jean argued in court on Monday that she had the right to move him as she saw fit.  At the hearing, the judge granted Kerri Kasem temporary conservatorship over her father.

While the former American Top 40 host’s exact whereabouts have not been revealed, CNN reports that after the investigation was ordered, sheriff’s deputies in Kitsap County followed a lead provided by California Adult Protective Services, and found Kasem and his wife visiting friends at a home.  Deputies determined the radio icon was receiving “appropriate care” and was not in distress.

Casey Kasem, 82, suffers from Lewy body disease.  He was previously misdiagnosed with advanced Parkinson’s.
