The Planet of the Apes reboot film Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a success when it was released around two years ago. Due to that, the inevitable sequel has been prepped and is about to be released as well.
The newest installment in the newly remolded franchise is titled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and it appears to be a much darker, somber film.
This time around the cast includes Gary Oldman and Keri Russell. Of course the indomitable Andy Serkis is reprising his amazingly excited role of Ceasar from the first film.
The official synopsis is:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
