Elvis Biopic “Last Train To Memphis” Puts Out An Open Casting Call

There are currently numerous studios all competing to release Elvis biopics. Despite having not been alive for decades The King is still as popular as ever. What would appear to be the first in a string of Elvis films is ‘Last Train To Memphis’. The film is written, it has producers attached and Kevin MacDonald (State of Play, The Last King of Scotland) is directing.

The next, and quite obvious, step in production is to locate a star. The production company has actually gone so far as to set up a digital casting call. That’s right. You can submit your acting reel to the  Young Elvis Presley  website to be considered for the part.

Elvis is one of the most iconic entertainers of all time. Similarly, some of the most iconic actors have portrayed him. Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Jason Biggs, Don Johnson, and Bruce Campbell have all tackled The King .

The fact that a major studio production is going out of their way to locate an unknown actor to portray Elvis is really impressive. This will also help distinguish this production from the others that are sure to follow rapidly in its wake. I’m looking forward to ‘Last Train to Memphis’. This looks like it has a lot of potential.
