Hugh Jackman is an amazing actor. He’s also rivaling Christopher Reeve as Superman and Sean Connery As Bond in the iconic department. Jackman has played Logan aka Wolverine in seven films. X-men, X2: X-men United, X-men 3: The Last Stand, X-men Origins: Wolverine, X-men: First Class, The Wolverine. Next year Jackman will be starring in the massive X-crossover film X-men: Days of Future Past, which will unite the cast from the original trilogy as well as the cast from the prequel film.
Needless to say, Jackman is the jewel in Fox’s crown. Wolverine is by far the most iconic mutant in their franchise. Fox, it would appear, is very anxious to keep Jackman around, happy, and sporting the mutton chops.
There’s currently a rumor floating around that Fox is offering Hugh Jackman a $100 million offer for the actor to reprise his role of the iconic cannuck in four more films. Presumably, this would be as a starring role, not the half a minute cameo that he had in First Class.
Granted, this news is trickling down through the National Inquirer. Their scoops aren’t always on point. However, they have been on the money a few times. This rumor doesn’t sound too off the beaten path, either. This would be a smart move for Fox, and a massive paycheck for Jackman.
However, ‘a source close to Jackman’ is reporting that Hugh hasn’t made up his mind. Apparently, he made up his mind never to commit to another multi-picutre deal after X3.
It this rumor is to be believed, Jackman is still weighing his options. We’ll see what shakes loose as things move along.
