Friday the 13th Reboot Coming in 2015

Paramount has just picked up the rights to the Friday the 13th franchise. Well, not just. They got them from Warner Brothers in exchange for the right to work on the next Christopher Nolan film Interstellar.

Paramount is planning to issue a rebooted Friday film on March 13th, 2015. Reportedly, the film will be a found footage narrative. Is that a good thing? Bat thing? Or just another chapter in the Friday the 13th long history? Who knows. But the fact that it’s a found footage movie doesn’t bug me as much as the fact that it’s yet another reboot.

If paramount was smart, they’d just continue in the old continuity. That’s what fans want. That’s how they’re going to make more money. That’s how they’re going to make Friday the 13th fiscally profitable again.
