Independence Day 2 Gets A New Screenwriter

Independence Day was a massive success in the 90’s. It helped propel Will Smith into superstardom, cemented Roland Emmerich as a high profile director, and gave Brent Spiner something to do in-between episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

And a new writer has just been hired to re-write the script. Carter Blanchard, who wrote Spyhunter for Warner Bros and Kindergarten Heroes for Fox, is taking over script duties from the current writer, James Vanderbilt.
