Jason Reitman Will Direct Adaptation of ‘The Possibilities’

Jason Rietman, director of Thank You For Smoking and Up In The Air as well as the forth coming Labor Day, has signed on to direct an adaptation of Kaui Hart Hemmings’ novel ‘The Possibilities’.

This isn’t the first time that one of Hemmings’ novels has been adapted for the big screen. The novel ‘The Descendants’ was brought to the big screen by Alexander Payne starring George Clooney and an all-star cast.

“Set in a Colorado ski town, the story follows a grieving mother struggling to overcome her son’s death. She’s visited by a strange girl with a secret that will change them both.”

No word yet if Reitman will be writing as well as directing, but it’s safe to assume he’ll be involved on that end of things.
