Dreamworks just won’t stop. It seems like every five minutes the put out yet another animated movie. I’d like to be able to say that they have a quality control department but it’s really just not the case. The Dreamworks Animation company just keeps churning out half baked animated property after half baked animated property.
Their latest offering is Mr Peabody and Sherman, a time travel story that involves a dog, who is somehow a human child’s parent. The film looks just as half baked as the other Dreamworks films. I’m all for fun family entertainment. Pixar has been doing it for decades. This film is just one in a long line of terribly multi million dollar animated properties. Whoever is pulling the shots over there needs to have their head examined.
The official synopsis is: Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine – The Wabac – to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes The Wabac out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidently rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history. Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era: figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time traveling trio will make their mark on history.
