Some music fans in the UK who have waited since 2001 to see Neil Young & Crazy Horse return to their area will have to wait a bit longer. Due to a mishap in which guitarist Frank “Pancho” Sampedro broke his hand, the band have cancelled their remaining tour dates in Europe, including dates in Liverpool and London.
The cancellation affects seven dates in total, including scheduled concerts in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Belgium and the UK. The band performed Wednedsday night in Oslo, Norway.
A statement on the band’s website reads, “Due to an accident involving Crazy Horse, the remaining dates on the Neil Young and Crazy Horse tour of Europe and the British isles have been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes to our fans or the Festivals where we were scheduled to appear. As you must be, we too are disappointed at this unfortunate turn of events.”
As Rolling Stone reports, the band is currently planning to resume tour dates in North America beginning August 31, as Sampedro is expected to recover enough to resume playing by that time.
