Blake Shelton’s fellow The Voice coach Usher and Darius Rucker are the latest in a growing list of artists to sign on for performances at the upcoming “Healing In the Heartland” concert benefitting victims of the tornado that slammed into Moore, Oklahoma last week, killing 24 (including 9 children), injuring hundreds more, and leaving thousands homeless.
Spearheaded by Shelton, the benefit show to be held in Oklahoma City was already slated to include Shelton, his wife Miranda Lambert, and fellow Oklahoma natives Reba McEntire and Vince Gill. Since the already sold-out benefit show was announced, others to confirm include One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder, Rascal Flatts and Luke Bryan, as well as Rucker and Usher.
The “Healing In the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert” is scheduled for tomorrow night, May 29 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. The live telecast will air on NBC starting at 9:00 PM EDT/PDT, and will also be shown both live and delayed on networks such as CMT, E! and Bravo, among others. Funds raised will go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund to benefit those most affected by the tragedy, and to provide immediate and ongoing assistance toward rebuilding the areas ravaged by the storm. Please tune in tomorrow night prepared to give generously.
