Every once in awhile, it’s fun to look back in music history (whether or not you were alive to see it) and pick out some gems. “Go Your Own Way” is one of my absolute favorite Fleetwood Mac tunes, so I found a great live performance vid to share below.
Fleetwood Mac is one of those bands that has followed a long, winding road, with a variety of personnel changes, disbanding and re-banding, and controversies all along the way. But behind it all, four key band members (Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham) have not only defined Fleetwood Mac, but have become rock icons in their own rights.
“Go Your Own Way” was written by Lindsey Buckingham as an honest expression about complications in his relationship with Stevie Nicks. It appeared on the Rumours album and has been listed on The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone Magazine. To me, this song represents the pinnacle of Fleetwood Mac’s long career as a band.
The members of Fleetwood Mac are all keeping busy; Stevie Nicks released a new solo album last year, and Lindsey Buckingham recently announced new solo tour dates. By the way, Fleetwood Mac is still officially a band, and “rumours” are that we can expect tour dates from the band this year, as well. In the meantime, enjoy the video below, captured from the band’s 1997 tour.
Share and Enjoy
