Shinedown creates IPad Experience with New Album “Amaryllis”

With Shinedown’s anticipated release of Amaryllis (their first album in four years), the band is promising the first ever complete album experience designed specifically for the iPad.

Coinciding with the album’s release, Shinedown has also released a 75-page interactive e-book formatted for the iPad. Titled FOR YOUR SAKE: Inside the Making of Shinedown’s Amaryllis, the “book” features videos, interactive galleries, and band commentary on the record. Furthermore, die-hard Shinedown fans have the chance to win one of several special autographed iPads with the e-book pre-loaded (see the band’s website [http://www.shinedown.com] for details).

Amaryllis itself is a solid effort for the band, who has become known for its anthemic, big-sound, alternative rock & roll with sing-able pop influences. The album’s first single “Bully,” released last December, is already gaining traction as a rallying cry for the anti-bullying movement, and many of the other songs on record are destined to become concert crowd favorites, from the rocking opener “Adrenaline” to the angst-filled “My Name (Wearing Me Out)”, and of course the title track “Amaryllis.”

About the Author

Tim Ferrar's interest in pop and rock started as a child, listening to Top-40 radio for hours on end while playing air guitar in his bedroom. Eventually air guitar led to electric guitar, and Tim began playing in bands and writing his own songs. With an admitted weakness for "a great hook or a great guitar riff," Tim's musical tastes are broad and varied, ranging from Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga on the pop side to Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters on the rock side- making him the ideal guy to cover our Rock and Pop categories. By day, Tim is a mild-mannered accountant in Chicago. By night, he rocks out on electric guitar in a cover band in various clubs around town- much to the surprise of some of his clients.
