The Lumineers Unveil New Track, Prep Deluxe Edition Release

Well, I was hoping for a brand-new full length from indie-folk sensations The Lumineers, but perhaps they’ve been so busy keeping up with their meteoric rise to fame that this is the best they can do for now.

On August 20, the band’s label Dualtone plans to release a special deluxe edition of The Lumineers’ self-titled breakthrough Platinum album. The new print will reportedly contain five bonus tracks (so that’s equivalent to an extra EP, right?), along with a behind-the-scenes DVD and a 28-page booklet. (The deluxe version will be available on iTunes, but it sounds like this would be better served as a hard copy. Just saying.)

Meanwhile, The Lumineers are teasing us with one of the bonus tracks, “Darlene.” Recorded in their signature lo-fi style, the song starts slow and sparse, and builds in intensity and volume all the way through.

Oh—and you’ll be humming it after it ends. Almost guaranteed.
