On Friday, Jan. 3, Young Jeezy turned himself into Atlanta authorities after a grand jury issued warrants for his arrest on three charges relating to an alleged physical attack on his own son in September 2012.
Referring to court documents, TMZ is reporting that the rapper allegedly threw his son around the bathroom and bedroom of their home, threw repeated punches and threatened to kill him. In the documents, the son alleges Jeezy (whose real name is Jay Jenkins) told him during the altercation, “I will put a bullet in your head right now,” and “If I could get away with it, I would kill you.” The specific charges leading to his arrest are battery, false imprisonment and terroristic threats.
After his arrest, Jeezy posted a $45,000 bond and was released. Further details are not known at present, but Jeezy’s lawyer told TMZ, “We have no doubt this matter will resolve itself appropriately. At this moment, Mr. Jenkins is thankful for the support of his fans and the respect for his family’s privacy.”
